Hua Hin’s Latest 'Vana Nava Sky Bar' Boasts World-Class Designs, Creative Cocktails, and Breathtaking Views

Now, there's been an addition to Hua Hin's list of attractions: the Vana Nava Sky Bar. Located on the 27th floor of the Holiday Inn Vana Nava Hua Hin, the sky bar offers an unmatched and impressive atmosphere up high, a cinematic view of Hua Hin city, and multiple ways to spend an enjoyable evening by the ocean.
Vana Nava Sky Bar officially opened its doors on Friday, August 31, 2018. The venue was bustling all night long with demonstrations of a new signature cocktail performed by mixologists Jen Kaewyord and Geo Valdivieso. The guests were then treated with special performances from John Will Sail and Jennifer Lackgren that serenaded the night with beautiful tunes of Folk and Indie Rock music.
The other side of the event was taken care of by the DJs who turned up the energy with Electronic, Pop, and R&B music through the night. Everyone was dancing and swinging to the beats up until the fashion show which was the highlight of the night. The show was presented under the theme Haute Couture Mixology, and all the eyes in the room were on all the 7 models walking down the runway. Each one of them represented the 7 signature drink of Vana Nava Sky which everybody got to catch a sample of throughout the night.
One of the aspects that got Vana Nava Sky Bar on top of everybody's must-visit list is its one-of-a-kind interior design. Inside, you'll find a modern-looking bar featuring gold-bronze and white color tones. The curvatures represent the ocean waves while expressing a sense of luxury altogether.
This comes to no surprise as the job was handed to world-renowned Australian designer Ashley Sutton. His interior design work can be seen at multiple upscale locales in Asia such as Dear Lily, Yojimbo, and Boroski in Hong Kong, Iron Faries in Japan, and Maggie Choo's and Mr. Jones Orphanage in Bangkok.
The bar is separated into 2 zones, indoors and outdoors. At the outdoor zone, you'll catch a breath-taking view of Hua Hin city that is surrounded by mountains, beaches, and ocean. There's also a bird's eye view platform at the very top, made with clear transparent floors. Unlike the city skyline in Bangkok, Hua Hin offers a whole different touch into nature with a 360 degrees vista.
You can’t have a sky bar without a creative cocktail menu, and Vana Nava Sky Bar’s got something special in store for that department. Their cocktail menu comes from the brilliant mind of world-renowned “mixsultant” and frequent Sutton-collaborator Joseph Boroski. Aside from all the visual appeal, each of his drink tells a different story through their unique flavors and texture.
For example, the Andaman Beauty (290 THB) uses a rum base infused with blueberry and orange, lemon, homemade pomegranate syrup, and egg whites. The concoction is then dressed with rose petals and orange peels. The Thyme is Sunny (290 THB) uses a gin base infused with chrysanthemum and lime juice before adding basil syrup, egg whites, and soda for a nice kick.
The one that you can't miss, however, is the bar's signature item: Thai Urban Iced Tea (290 THB). It uses a cold-pressed black tea base that has been infused with dried lemongrass, cinnamon, and Thai lime over 24 hours. The base is then mixed with either homemade jackfruit syrup, or vodka, and served in a clear plastic bag, a presentation that takes inspiration from classic iced coffee servings in the old markets of Hua Hin.
Vana Nava Sky Bar also presents a tapas-style menu featuring modern and creative Thai, Japanese, and Mediterranean inspired dishes. Whether you’re looking for a simple appetizer, or a grandeur main dish, you can find all sorts of seafood items prepared in all kinds of ways.
We highly recommend the Vana Nava Sky Tuna Tartare Taco (320 THB), fresh tuna tartare served in a tortilla alongside avocados, limes, and chilli, the Mexican Chicken Tacos (320 THB), finely seasoned chicken tacos topped with fresh lettuce and cheese, and the Chicken Wings (290 THB), juicy chicken wings doused in BBQ sauce and almonds.
There aren’t many places in Hua Hin that offers such a beautiful surrounding, romantic atmosphere, and delicious cuisine all in one place.
