Located in the famous shopping complex Central World, Sky Bar is an elegant and fancy rooftop bar that gives you a semi-circle view of the city.
To get there, you are required to head towards Centara Grand, taking an elevator to the 55th floor of the tower. If you are in need of directions, any Central guard will gladly show you the way.
Once on top, kind waiters and waitresses guide you up a flight of stairs to a sea of red chairs, sofas, and tables. Like any beautiful location, it is best to come early to get the good seats, especially those facing the setting sun.
However, if tucking in with a glass of liquor to the cool night is more your thing, then there is no rush.
Along with their list of many cocktails and wines, food is also on the Red Sky menu. You can find chic European items that are certain to keep you satisfied until the closing time at 1 AM.
CRU Champagne Bar
If you’re looking to impress your date a little more, you’re in luck because all you have to do is go up a little more. Capping the crown that is Centara Grand, all it takes is another step into the elevators of Red Sky before you reach the very top of the tower at CRU.
The famous CRU Champagne Bar may only be four floors higher, but the view is many more times as impressive. While in Red Sky you are limited to 180 degrees, CRU gives you a whole panoramic circle; allowing you to see Bangkok like you haven’t seen before.
There is also an impressive lighted arch that changes color in front of the darkening sky.
However, CRU isn’t called a champagne bar for no reason. There is a huge list of the most premium of sparkling delights, ranging from G.H. Mumm Cordon Rouge Brut for 899 Baht per glass to some vintage 2004 Bollinger ‘La Grande Année’ Brut that will set you back 22,000 Baht.
After that, try one of their champagne cocktails. The mix will guarantee you’ll be buzzing and optimistic about your lovely night ahead.
Zense
It’s quite alright to believe that this is more of a Top 5 Rooftop Bars to check out at Central World/Centara Grand rather than Siam, but we guarantee this is the last of the lot.
Zense can is on the 17th floor of Central World on the ZEN side of the mall and although near the previous mentions, gives a unique experience.
When you reach the top at Zense, you are greeted with a walkaway adjacent to glass panels; already giving an immaculate first impression of the night ahead.
While CRU and Red Sky are more styles rather than substance, Zense is at its core a fusion restaurant with Italian, Japanese, and even Indian cuisine.
However, it doesn’t mean that it can’t get lit at Zense. You can either grab one of their many cocktail choices from the menu or walk up to the designated bar and get recommendations from the bartender instead.
The space itself has already been used for several events, and we can see why so. After eating and drinking, step outside to the Japanese decorated balcony and enjoy the view.
The Roof Gastro
Once bored of the Central World area, take a little walk to Siam@Siam hotel, and you’ll find yourself at another rooftop bar to chill at.
What’s great about The Roof is that the bar is not very well known, making walking to find a seat a breeze. But that doesn’t mean that it is any less delightful to be.
Once on the 25th floor of the hotel, your eyes will immediately be hit with a wave of colors from the hipster interior design, before marveling at a 360-degree view of the city.
The menu once again offers a fusion selection, inspired by Italian, Japanese, and Mexican cuisine. The cocktails are also top-notch, with an excellent price to boot.
The Siam@Siam Delight will only require 280 Baht to order, and it’s worth every baht down to every “satang”. To get to The Roof, it’s easier to go from National Stadium station, with the Siam@Siam hotel located right in front of Supachalasai Stadium.
Bar9 Beer Garden
Last but certainly not least, Bar9 Beer Garden is a hidden gem nesting on the 9th Floor of Novotel Bangkok Platinum Pratunam. And while it is a bit of a walk, it is worth it.
Bar9 opens its doors in the early morning at 8 AM. So if you’re working near the area and are looking for a high-end breakfast, look no further.
They also have a swimming pool facility for you to enjoy as well. However, the best times are at night, when the sun sets giving you another nice angle of the city.
But it is the food selection that is sure to make you drool. Every Friday and Saturday, with Seafood BBQ, sets starting at a very fair price of just 299 THB, assembled in a chic box worthy of a social media post.
And while the beer is the drink in the Bar9 name, it is the cocktails that steal the show with their new “Booze Bags”. These colorful medical pack lookalikes may have names such as “Poison” and “Deathless”, but they are a joy to drink and packs a punch.
