DJ Pichy's Moo Tod Mae Pich Serves Ultimate Thai Comfort Food
Must-try menus include Pork Balls with Salted Egg Yolk, Deep-Fried Pork Belly, and Homemade Jaew Pla Daek Dip – yum!
For followers of Thailand’s electronic as well as drum & bass scenes in earlier days, DJ Pichy is a name that sparks instant recognition. After all, she is a prominent female DJ who’s a trailblazer of the genres.
These days, DJ Pichy’s style is closer to soul, funk, boogie, beats, and hip-hop, but for the last 15 years, her signature brand of DJing has never failed to liven up the party.
She’s also one of the founders of Quay Records.
Her love of music has had her spinning vinyl records and juggling various businesses that come with the territory. However, those are far from being her only passions. A mom to her only child, DJ Pichy loves to cook up delicious dishes for everyone to enjoy.
That’s why she’s stepping into the kitchen and setting up a brand-new shop – Moo Tod Mae Pich (Mama Pich's Fried Pork), which has just opened on April 1. The stall is located in PTT Gas Station, Mengjai, Prachauthit Road (across from Jazzotel Bangkok).
Every menu is an original recipe by DJ Pichy. For a signature item, she recommends Pork Balls with Salted Egg Yolk (80 THB / 120-gram piece), served with homemade fish sauce & chili. (On some days, you might even get free jaew pla ra dip to go with the set.)
Other than pork balls, the shop is also offering deep-fried marinated pork belly (70 THB / 100 grams), garlic pork balls (60 THB / 100 grams), rice with fried pork, and steamed lung oysters & grilled eggplant jaew dip with fermented fish (60 THB / set).
Even though you can’t dine in at Moo Tod Mae Pich, you can still enjoy authentic Thai comfort food at your home. Just order through the shop’s channels, on the Lineman app, or get something from the shop yourself every day between 11.00 - 18.00.
Go grab your phone now and enjoy a delicious meal from Moo Tod Mae Pich!
