Exclusive Interview with Bang Bang Bang
As a founder of Thailand’s most successful Hip Hop act Thaitanium KHAN has been in the spotlight of Thailand’s music scene for many years already. Recently he have started a new side-project called BangBangBang, together with Keezy who was already working with Thaitanium for several years. While Thaitanium is all about Hip Hop and R&B, Bang Bang Bang focuses on electronic dance music.
Siam2nite had the opportunity to have an exclusive interview with Khan, shortly after his performance at the Red Bull Thre3Style Showcase at Demo on 30th April.
How would you describe the sound of Bang Bang Bang?
Coming from producing mostly Hip Hop & RnB We like many different styles of EDM so we are experimenting with mixing all the styles that we like & create our own fusion of Trap Reggae Hiphop Dubstep sound of our own. However for the bootleg movie remixes that we do are mostly Trap.
As part of Thaitanium you rap and sing, as part of BangBangBang you take the role as DJ, while Keezy is the musician of the group. The DJ role is nothing to new to you, but many are not aware of this, as you stopped DJing around 1996 to focus on music production. Before that, you have been an active DJ. You won the first ever DMC DJ Competition in Thailand and were Thailand’s representative at an international DJ competition in overseas. Did you miss DJing?

Bang Bang Bang’s first release was the track “Higher” – a track featuring great vocals and surprises with unexpected combination of EDM and Trap. What other tracks, remixes or mix-sets would you recommend to someone that is not yet familiar with the Bang BangBangsound?
I would recommend everyone to catch up with our bootleg movie remixes series on our YouTube channel. (Wolf of Trap, Scarface and soon to come New Trap City) coz there is nothing else out there like it!
You are currently working on a brand-new track featuring Da Endorphine. What can you tell us about the track and when will it be released?
It's out now ! The track is a little more radio friendly than any other tracks BBB has released & it's the first Thai Trap song we ever done. Shout out to Da Endorphine she Murdered the Track.
The first live performance of BangBangBang at a major event was at the recent “Gravity Thailand pres. Arcadia”. Even though you are experienced and confident to play in front of huge crowds, it was the first time that you did so not as part of Thaitanium. How did you feel about it?
Fantastic ! The sound was amazing.. Felt great to return to DJing after nearly 20 years away with such a great opportunity to debut BBB on a world class stage. Blessing!
What else is on BangBangBang’s agenda for 2015 and what are you currently working and focusing on?
We have new singles and music videos coming out from "Bang tha World" EP that we released. We actually relaunching the EP into a deluxe version. With "Touch Da Sky" the new single featuring Da Endorphine plus 3 remixes from Machina, 22Bullets and Stabby very exciting stuff. And we also have more movie remixes coming every other month.
