Exclusive Interview with Stadiumx
Epic Entertainment brings STADIUMX to Levels. The DJ & Production duo consists of the two Hungarian producers David and Sullivan (also known from Muzzaik with over a 100 releases on Beatport). Their music is a unique and energetic blend of House & Progressive House. Their track "Howl At The Moon" reached the #1 position on the overall Beatport charts and became the most played track at Ultra Miami 2014.
Siam2nite had the opportunity to have an exclusive interview with Stadiumx, shortly before their performance at Levels on 21st May.
You are a Hungarian DJ & Production duo, with a focus on Progressive House. How would you describe your own music in just a few words?
Progressive and we like music with vocals. We also want the audience to go crazy, so a good drop is very important!
Your international breakthrough came with the track “Howl at the Moon”, which was debuted by Nicky Romero at the “Nicky Romero & Friends Protocol Recordings Label Night” at ADE. The track took the #1 position on the overall Beatport charts and became the most played track at Ultra Miami 2014. What other tracks would you recommend to someone that is not yet familiar with your music?
Ghost is a track we’re also very proud of, and ‘Surrender’, ‘Lovers on the Sun’, ‘Eye of the Storm’ and of course all the other ones!
What’s on your agenda for 2015 and what are you currently and focusing working on?
We’re constantly in the studio producing together, so 2015 will be a year with some great releases! And a lot of gigs this summer during festival season at several great venues. We’re definitely enjoying this year so far and we’re excited for the future!
You founded Stadiumx in 2012. Looking back on the past 3 eventful and successful years, what were the best and the worst gigs you played and what were the funniest things that occurred during your performances?
That’s a tough one. We never experienced anything too crazy (yet) during our performances and we enjoyed every gig we did so far, but one of the most memorable performances was the one at Amsterdam Dance Event, where Nicky Romero surprised us on stage with a platinum record for ‘Howl at the Moon’. That was a big moment for us!
You are from Budapest - the capital and the largest city of Hungary, and one of the largest cities in Central Europe. What can you tell us about clubbing and nightlife there? Do you have any nightlife-related suggestions for first-time visitors?
We both still live in Budapest, so we love the city a lot. Clubbing is great here and people here love electronic music! Club Play is probably one of the best clubs, so we recommend it!
