At what age did you start DJing? Where did the impulse come from that made you start? What kind of equipment did you use and how did you get it?
I was always big fan of music, I just started back home practicing and figuring out how to DJ. Then I started to play in local clubs just for fun, in the meantime I bought some software and tried to figure out how it all works. Those were the first steps to my production skills.
How would you describe your music?
We tend to call it Chainsaw Madness, why it’s called like that? You better listen to my music and let it speak for itself.
Dada Life named you as Breakthrough DJ/Producer of 2011 in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs 2011 interview. This year you already entered the Top 100 ranked #73. What are your thoughts on this and what does the poll mean to you?
I’m honored other artists give me a heads up or compliments. Entering the dj list felt great and I see it as an achievement in my work.
In 2008 you - together with Hardwell - released the track “MRKRSTFT”. The track was highly successful and was featured on the 2008 Sensation White CD. How did you guys meet and what’s the story behind this track?
We know eachother from back in the day, grew up in the same city. We were working on a lot of music together back then.
For those not yet familiar with your music, what other tracks should they listen to?
I’m very proud of ‘Sending my Love’ but definitely check out ‘A Night In’
You were support act on AfroJack’s tour. How did you guys meet and how was the tour?
Afrojack heard about my music and took me under his wings. I joined the jacked tour and we’ve been producing a lot of music together ever since.
Last year you did 228 flights. What are the things you miss the most when you are on tour?
My parents, home, my own bed and working in the studio.
You had a fully booked 2012 so far. What were your highlights?
Every gig feels special, EDC Las Vegas is amazing, but also playing at Amsterdam Dance Event felt great
You made your Thailand Debut this year in February, at Q Bar. Did you keep it in good memory?
The friendly people and the amazing response on my music, people really go crazy and wild!
You are currently touring Asia, including shows in Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Japan, Korea and Thailand. Do you enjoy playing in Asia?
Yes, besides the great food, lovely weather and culture especially the fans give me sooo much energy, it’s unbelievable.
Are you adventurous if it comes to food? Do you try the local dishes of the countries you travel to? Will you give spicy Thai food a chance?
Absolutely, food is very important for me, especially healthy stuff.
Your show in Bangkok at LED Club will be on 4th December. Is there a message we can deliver to the Bangkok crowd for you?
Please come out and say hi, I will promise you this will be a night to remember and make sure you need R3HAB afterwards ;)
