Bangkok Block Party: Music Fest Meets Lifestyle for Fans of Hip-hop, Indie, Electronic, and Rock & Roll
In the earlier months of 2018, Soi Sukhumvit 26’s A Square was turned into an outdoor music festival that lasted from noon to midnight. This was Bangkok Block Party, where shows from international artists of all genres meet lifestyle: food, art, if it’s awesome, they’ve got it all. Been hankering for this bash? Get ready, ‘cause on January 19-20th, 2019, Bangkok Block Party is coming back with its lively atmosphere. Bigger and better too, as Blaq Lyte will join forces with Rabbit Group to transform the heart of Siam into a music festival filled to the brim with Blaq Lyte’s signature hip vibes.
Three concert stages will be housed around outdoor areas of Siam Paragon, Siam Center, and Siam Discovery from 12.00 to 22.00. Festival goers can enjoy beats from their favorite genres; be it hip-hop, indie, electronics, or rock & roll, take your pick!
At Siam Paragon is Blaq Lyte x Rap is Now Stage, bringing you acts from Thai and international hip-hop artists/rappers. Headlining the event are Southeast London rapper, Jesse James Solomon, and special guest, Rejjie Snow, the Irish hip-hop artist who brought us the hit, “D.R.U.G.S”. Crave Moore, R3LL, Softest Hard, DrewByrd, Ugly Duck, Phum Viphurit, Twopee, Younggu x Diamond, Youngohm x Fiixd, Lazyloxy & OG-Anic, Maiyarap x Ben Bizzy x Blacksheep, Wifi Gang, DJ Keigo, DJ Criminal 6, Banks IV, Jimbo Jenkins, Vick Okada DJ Toru, DJ Kade, and Vnazz will also be joining the stage.
Indie and electronic fans might gravitate more towards Siam Center with Future Factory Bangkok Stage, though. The lineup includes various artists and DJs from overseas: Autograf, Paper Diamond, Deepshower, Jengi, Wantigga, Eyedress, Madeaux, Pyra, Brent James, Shooka, DJ Healthy, Ralphy.wav, Memento, Kori Mafi, Daniel Didyasarin, Arthur Yeti, Wanton Witch, Subez Yeti, DJ Freckles, MYP & ARB, Karty Partyy, and JWP
The final stage will be on the skywalk between Siam Discovery and MBK; a rock & roll stage organized by Auntys Haus. Bang your head and rock your heart out with The Flytraps, The Greed, District 105, 7uppercuts, License to kill, Born From Pain, Chaos of Society, Foolish the Bastards, TBPH Ten Baht Per Hour, Monument X, Bleed, Depressed, Murder Bizkitz, Of Victims and Prey, Move Along, Self Strength, Death of Heather, Ugoslabier, The Diehards, The Greed, Low Fat, Jimmy Revolt, Pistol 99, The Passion of Anna, Higher Learning, Dreaming Hotrod, Hate Monday, and The Out of Sorts. Also joining the festival as main hosts are Lil Mayo and Ethan Cutkosky, who’ll absolutely make the event buzzing with energy!
The impish characters and splashy graphics on Bangkok Block Party’s banner highlight this year’s theme, created in collaboration with LA-based streetwear brand, RIPNDIP. These event-exclusive designs will also be on a special collection of merch, including Rabbit cards with swanky, limited-edition prints. Only 1,000 cards are available for purchase, definitely a rare and unique item.
