5 Music Festivals Happening in Bangkok This June & July 2018
Thailand has long established itself as a frontrunner for electronic music in the Asian region. This 2018, the announcements of music festivals, both new and returning, have begun to fill the calendars of music enthusiasts far and wide. For the third part in our series of articles, here are our top picks for events happening between June and July of 2018 that are not to be missed.
What The Fest
Chang Music Connection presents What The Fest Music Festival across the 16th and 17th June this 2018 at the Royal Paragon Hall of Siam Paragon. The massive two day event covers a selection of pop acts on the first day (Peck Palitchoke, The Toys, Room 39, Getsunova, Samp, Atom, Oat Pramote, Violette Wautier, Gangore Club, Lipta, Tabasco) and rock showcases on the second day (Bodyslam, Potato, Palmy, Big Ass, Slot Machine, 25 Hours, Paradox, Lomosonic, Thaitanium, Overdose). Moreover, there will be over 30 stalls on site, offering attendees a selection of shopping opportunities from dining options to beauty products to clothes… the list goes on!

Sensation Thailand
Sensation began in 2000 by founders Duncan and Miles Stutterheim, and saw 20,000 festival-goers come together at the Amsterdam Arena. The following year, Duncan asked attendees to dress in all white as a tribute to his brother who sadly passed away in a car accident. Since then, the tradition has stuck on, and year after year these world class parties have evolved on a global scale. Acts that have taken the Sensation stages over the years include Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano, Quintino, Hardwell, and many other notable names. Sensation returns to Bangkok this coming 29th of July at BITEC Bangna.
While information on the lineup has yet to be announced, tickets are currently on sale at 3,200 THB for general admission and 5,100 THB for VIP passes.

Genesis Music Festival
Trance Lovers Thailand and MEEZ join forces to create Genesis Music Festival. The debut edition, known as “The Nebula Eye” will be held on the 7th of July 2018 at Centerpoint Studio. Trance enthusiasts will be pleased by the announcement of a world class trance only lineup. Acts on the billing include Bliss, Jase Thirwall, Bryan Kearney, Mark Sherry, Heatbeat, Simon Patterson and Sneidjer. Tickets are now on sale at 1800 THB for general admission passes. A pre-party and after-party have also been announced for dates prior to and following the main event at Club XS.

Fullmoon Party Live in Bangkok
Organized by ZAAP, Fullmoon Party brings the concept of Koh Phangan’s mystical parties into a full blown indoor festival right here in Bangkok city. Set for the 8th of June at BITEC Bangna, the themed event is guaranteed an exquisite stage and production following past successful editions. Last year brought about the likes of VINAI, Thomas Newson and Cesqeaux. This year is bound to be just as incredible with the recent announcements of psy-trance act Berg, one of a kind performer Salvatore Ganacci and über talented Timmy Trumpet on the billing. Thailand HipHop Festival
Heavy Organizer and U Beer present “Thailand Hiphop Festival” on the 9th of June at J.J Mall Bangkok and will run from 2PM till midnight. The event combines together the four components of the hiphop scene - graffiti, DJs, MCs, and B-Boy dancing. The lineup consists of a variety of quality regional acts, such as Thaitanium, Dam, Fucking Hero, Rastafah, B-King, Chom Chumkasian and 1 Flow, PP Dreams, CP Sming, JSR, Youngbong, YoungOhm x FIIXD x Cleo-P DJ Set, VKL, Maiyarap, Bomb at Track and Rap Ake. Early bird tickets are now on sale at 500 THB before the general sale price at 700 THB.
