The 6 Electronic Dance Music Festivals Happening in Bangkok This February & March
Thailand has long established itself as a frontrunner for electronic music in the Asian region. This 2018, the announcements of music festivals, both new and returning, have begun to fill the calendars of music enthusiasts far and wide. Here are our top picks for events happening between February and March that are not to be missed.
Chang Carnival
Chang has always been well known for their one of a kind parties, and this coming February marks the return of their annual “Chang Carnival” events held across Thailand. This year, Bangkok is in for a treat with the aptly titled “World of Illusion”, a two day festival on the 16th and 17th of February at Asiatique that promises attendees a fun filled whimsical experience. The first day of the festival showcases Buddha Bless, Joey Boy, Slot Machine and Modern Dog, while the second day presents the likes of international DJ acts Yves V, Nicky Romero and Zomboy.
Following two successful editions in Chonburi and Nakhon Pathom, tickets for Bangkok’s edition of Chang Carnival are now sold out.
TNT Music Festival
The current music scene marks the integration of dance music and hip-hop. TNT Music Festival aims to do just that. Created by Singha Corporation and TNT Music Evolution, and making the first appearance on our list, TNT Music Festival will be held at Bitec Bangna Hall on the 17th of February. The goal follows through with a lineup featuring iconic rapper Lil Jon, Walshy Fire of global hit-making group Major Lazer, and Korean DJ Soda alongside a special performance by Thai hip-hop group Thaitanium.
Early bird and VIP passes are now available at 2200 and 3500 baht respectively.
Kolour In The Park
Known to the region as the premiere house and techno music festival, Kolour in the Park is back at the Thai Wake Park on the 24th and 25th of February. The interactive experience allows attendees to not only immerse themselves within the two stages of music but also in the many movements found throughout the duration of the event. Past editions have seen attendees dressing up in their incredible bohemian outfits and dancing the night away. Favourite activities have included food bazaars, art showcases and installations, as well as wake-boarding itself. A total of 12 artists have
now been revealed including Canadian producer Pomo, live act Youngr, as well as techno DJs Mendy Indigo and Boris Rubin.
Pre-sale and early bird tickets are now sold out at the time of writing. General admission passes are on sale at 1650 / 2700 baht on the event’s website.

Dropzone Festival
Also joining our list for the first time is Dropzone Festival that is set for the 2nd and 3rd of March 2018. With the concept of a dystopian society as part of their overall theme, the two day event will be held at Wonderworld Extreme Park and features a wide array of international artists over the genres of trance, trap and techno. The full phase lineup presents three stages with Kaskade, Dash Berlin and Paul Van Dyk as the main headliners. A recent announcement has veteran turntablist A-Trak, fan favourite Kill The Noise, and trap producer Valentino Khan joining the ranks as well.
A new tier of passes have been released, and prices start at 3500 / 5500 baht for Silver and VIP Gold passes respectively. VVIP tables and cabanas are also available for bookings.

BLEND 285: Bangkok of Dreams
Also, a new addition to our list is BLEND 285 presents Bangkok of Dreams. Set for the 10th of March 2018 at Live Park Rama 9, the festival has Vinai, Eptic and Garmiani currently announced as part of their billing. While not much else has been revealed regarding the event, Bangkok of Dreams will be organized by the team behind The Bangkok Countdown and Waterzonic - two world-class festivals with high-end stage and production designs. Stay tuned for more information regarding the lineup and exclusive giveaways.
Tickets go on sale soon at the prices of 499/999/1,200 THB for general admission and 1500 THB for VIP. Early Blend tickets will be released on the 9th of February that is free of charge to those who pre-register.
Transmission Festival
Transmission Festival, often dubbed as the ‘best laser show’ in the world, originated in 2006 from Prague in the Czech Republic. Since then, they have expanded to Slovakia, Australia and Thailand. With attendees from over 60 different nationalities last year, Transmission guarantees a top notch show by flying in their European production crew, thus ensuring the best possible musical experience. Attendees are able to look forward to the new theme of “The Spirit of the Warrior”, and this year’s edition invites Transmission resident Markus Schulz, and fellow renowned trance acts Aly & Fila, Ben Nicky, and Jordan Suckley. Pre and afterparties have also been announced, with Menno de Jong and Ferry Corsten headlining respectively. The venue has been set for Bitec Bangna on the 17th of March 2018.
Tickets are now on sale at 2800 baht for general admission and 4500 baht for VIP. VVIP tables and cabanas are also available for bookings.
