Sangjan Entertainment Presents: Lunar Rainbow Sangjan Music Festival 2017 Live In Khao Yai
2017 has been a year filled with concerts and music festivals. Bangkok has welcomed artists from all around the world from EDM headliners to indie bands. What you don’t see very often are Thai local artists in the spotlight. Where have all of them gone? It’s been a while since there was a large-scale music festival that brought together many different genres of music and headlined by some of Thailand’s best artists. Just as we thought we might have to wait a while longer, a group of organizers have been planning quite a surprise for us towards the end of the year.
Sangjan Brewery has been part of the local’s nightlife in the live music pub scene for years. Having up to 9 branches to its name, each location has hosted a variety of music performances ranging from Rock concerts to EDM parties. With over 10 years of experience in the realms of entertainment and production, countless handshakes with music artists, and inspiration from visiting music festivals around the world, Sangjan Entertainment decided it was time to bring us one of the biggest mash-up of music genres Thai people has ever seen.
On August 29th, 2017 the organizers gave us a glimpse of what it will be like at Khao Yai later this year. The Ramintra branch of Sangjan Brewery played host to the official pre-party called “Road to Sangjan Music Festival 2017” and it was amazing. Guests were treated with body paint models and had a chance to get in on the colorful amusement as well. DJ Zara Gift and MC Master Mind then treated the crowd with some EDM under the black lights that brought out a “moonlit” atmosphere. The show then welcomed one of Thailand’s Rock seniors, Labanoon, to the stage where the fans were able to jump to sick guitar riffs and sing along to their favorite chorus. Given that the pre-party was such a triumph, we can only imagine how epic the main event will be.
The Sangjan Music Festival 2017 will take place on December 9th & 10th, 2017 at the 8 Speed Motor Track in Khao Yai. The event will host a troupe of Thai artists including rock bands, hip-hop stars, acoustic soloist, and a tribe of EDM enthusiasts. We understand that a 2-day festival away from Bangkok might be a bit of nuisance for some people. If you are still up in the air about whether this is the music festival for you and your friends or not, here are some pointers that might help you come to a resolution:
Party in the Mountains
Natural beauty and serenity, wild animals, outdoor activities, and campfires with friends and family would be the usual reasons to drive three hours from Bangkok to Khao Yai for. Why not add a music festival onto that list too? This will be the first time a beautiful location such as 8 Speed Motor Track will open its doors to host a music festival within its 200 Acres of land in the middle of the mountain scenery. With this tremendous amount of space, the organizers will have everything prepared for you including stylish food trucks, waterfall activities, camping grounds, Barbeque spots, 24 hour security, all the parking you need, and even air conditioned bathrooms at your service. It seems like all you need to do is pack your bags, go right ahead, and just enjoy yourself away while the cool mountain breeze brushes upon your hair.
A Brew of Music Genres
When someone says a music festival, we often think of EDM. But when Sangjan says music festival, they really mean a blend of all different types of music genres. Leading the list are the rock veterans Moderndog and Labanoon, all-time hip-hop star Joey Boy, disco-funk Grooveriders frontman Burin, easy listening Pop soloist Wan Thanakrit, and many more. That’s not the end of it. It will not be a full on party without the EDM crew. Headlining the party list are DJ ONO of the Bangkok Invaders, and big names in the Thai EDM such as DJ Roxy June, DJ Botcash, and Make You Freak (DJ V. Tinn & MC Ling of King). What more can you ask for?
The Lunar Rainbow
The light and colors you will witness throughout every corner of the festival will leave you with the never-ending impression like partying under a “lunar rainbow”. As rare as it is to catch a glimpse of a lunar rainbow in Thailand, the organizers want to give the attendees the same feeling of exclusivity when they come to the festival. The Main Stage Area will bring you so close to the artists like you’ve never been before while sound and lighting will guarantee to bring you maximum enjoyment. All 14 zones of the festival are designed uniquely, but overall brings out the festivity of the event altogether. You can choose whether to roll in the grass, sit at tables, hang around the bar, or even watch the festival unfold from a high ground, all which you will be assisted with well trained staffs whom will make sure you have everything you need.
If you love the mountain feel, great music, and festive energy, then this is the place to be. Come sing along with your friends to your favorite tunes, dance the night away as the DJs drop the beat, and enjoy one of the most beautiful sceneries in all of Thailand.
