BARCUZ: Changing Surat Thani’s Nightlife Scene
When you think of the nightlife scene in Thailand, Bangkok is probably the city that most prominently stands out. After all, it is the capital city where a large number of clubs, festivals, and fairs are opened and happening every day of the week. It is no surprise that as soon as you move out of the big city, finding a spot to appease your nightlife cravings might be slightly harder.
Barcuz has a mission to change that. Situated in the beautiful Southern city of Surat Thani, Barcuz recently hosted its soft opening on February 24th, 2017 in the heart of the city (Amphoe Mueang) to much fanfare among celebrities, net idols, business people, and your everyday party people. The new club focuses on electronic dance music (EDM) and with guest DJs on the turn tables like DJ Dr. Beat and DJ Queen Nara christening the dance floor on opening night alongside Thailand’s famous live band Cocktail, it was surely a banging start!
The new establishment aims to position itself as a powerhouse club in the Southern region of Thailand that will attract big name artists and DJs from Thailand. The idea for the spot began as a passion among the partners who all have an affection towards heavy hitting EDM music. This passion quickly grew into a business whereby the main objective was to share and spread the scene with the people of Surat Thani.
The ultimate goal is to elevate and lift the nightlife scene in Surat Thani to international standards that will accommodate both Thai and international party people. A big emphasis may be placed on the fun but what makes Barcuz stand out is its focus and commitment towards the the comfort and safety of all revelers that come by.
Siam2nite had the chance to visit Barcuz’s Grand Opening night on March 9th, 2017 under the concept of EDM Pub & Live Music, and it was an experience worth remembering. With Make You Freak, a DJ duo on the ones-and-twos making sure there was no one standing still all night, it was ON! The beautiful people of Surat Thani really shined brighter than the stage lights and with the crowd totally going HAM, it was easy to feel one with the music.
Make sure Barcuz is included in your nightlife itinerary when you make your way down to Surat Thani to see for yourselves what an epic night down South feels like. The owners have promised that they will be bringing the hottest local and international talents, both leading DJs and live bands, to entertain the crowds on a weekly basis – so do not miss out!
For starters, veteran DJ Sunzone and MC Choi will be bringing down the house on April 1st, 2017. This will be followed by super live performances by Lomosonic on April 5th, 2017. As you can see, they truly mean business only the first week into April – and we promise you this is no April Fool’s Day joke!
