DEMO X ONYX present Southern Thailand Charity Project
After experiencing the highest level of rainfall in 30 years, the South of Thailand is facing critical flooding, with 12 provinces affected. The floods have affected close to 1 Million people, cost the lives of over 20 people, and left several ten thousand in need of help. The damage caused by the floods is exceeding 1 Billion Baht.
In some places the flood water reached as high as the roofs of many houses and some currents became strong enough to sweep away cars. Extensive repairs are needed for vital infrastructures, such as roads, bridges, rail tracks, schools, and hospitals. Currently, 19 highways are still impassable to motorists.
The two nightlife institutions DEMO (Thonglor) and ONYX (RCA) join forces for the South Donation Project. They will donate the generous amount of 200,000 Baht to bring relief to the victims of the flood, and on top of that they will hold a 5-day fundraising activity at their venues to collect further donations. The activity is supported by Grey Goose, Bacardi and Siam2nite.
From 17-21 January, patrons at both venues have the opportunity to make a donation. Every donor will receive a special “South Donation Project” T-Shirt (1 shirt per person).
There will also be a limited amount of exclusive trucker caps for donations reaching the amount of 1,000 Baht or higher.
The T-Shirts are limited to 100 pieces per venue, the trucker caps are limited to 30 pieces per venue. They will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis.
The complete proceeds from the project will be donated to government agencies that bring aid to the affected provinces in the south.
