It used to be once a year, then every other month. Now? We can look forward to 10 festivals within the next 6 months. It's fair to say, the festival game in Thailand has stepped it up to another level.
Find below our illustrious list of the 10 upcoming music festivals in Thailand you don't want to miss in the next 6 months.
SEPTEMBER
Waterzonic | Bangkok
Who said Songkran in April is the only time of year when Thailand has a Festival where you can get soaked at? This September, prepare yourselves for a water spectacle as Waterzonic has promised to up the ante and will be bringing down the super-soakers over 2 days instead of the typical 1-day festival it used to be.
Held between 31 September – 01 October at the SCG Stadium in Muang Thong Thani, expect yourselves to be drenched in water while you experience quality production from the one and only Zaap Party team. This year you will be seeing the likes of superstar DJs Afrojack, Dash Berlin, Fedde Le Grand, and Andrew Rayel among dozens of other big names. So prepare your wet suits, it is about to rain.

OCTOBER
Wet & Wild | Hua Hin
It seems to be the in thing right now, but being soaked at a festival just seems to work. Maybe it is because of all the bikini babes that seem to turn up – but whatever it is Wet & Wild Festival organized by the Lazerface team is another large scale party worthy of your attention.
With 2 stages set up in Santorini Park Waterventures, the party on 01 October 2016 will cater to both live music enthusiasts as well as electronic music fans. The fun will not stop as revelers take on the ultimate pool party series from noon until late. Expect Thai artists by the dozen from Thaitanium to Palmy on the live stage and the boys of Bang Bang Bang to Make You Freak on the electronic stage.

NOVEMBER
Anotherworld | Bangkok
As soon as Anotherworld was announced to happen for the first time this year, the name itself already suggested that Thailand was about to witness something fresh. With attendees encouraged to “unleash the untamed” at the event, there is no doubt in our minds that there will be some hardcore dancing going on at this festival.
Happening on 5 November, 2016 at Motorsports Land we expect a dark and mystical world being created from the ground up for all attendees to witness. And with hardstyle DJs like Coone, Noise Controllers, and Code Black already announced to be playing, we are afraid the grounds might start shaking if you live in that area.

DECEMBER
808 | Bangkok
Having traditionally been held on December 9th every year, 808 is back to woo the crowds again but on a different date. The 1-day festival in 2016 will be extended to a 2-day festival happening between 10-11 December and word on the street is, like every other year, the line-up is a beast.
Other than the dates, little has been hinted as of now, but if we use the previous years as a benchmark, you can probably expect 2 stages and a lot of fun. We know we are always left wanting more every year.

Big Mountain | Kaeng Krachan
Big Mountain is exactly what its name says it is. BIG. With over 40,000 people descending on the event last year, it always seems to be a place where love blossoms and worries fade. Expect pretty much every single A-list Thai artist to be playing there as well as multiple up and coming indie bands.
The 8th edition of the event is happening between 10-11 December in 2016 at the Kaeng Krachan Country Club, Phetchaburi. If you have never experienced a BMMF before, this might be the right time to attend!

FEBRUARY
Maya | Pattaya
As a festival that really spearheaded the integration of Thai culture and modern day dance music, Maya festival has only grown in strength. The most recent event was lauded by attendees both local and international – all singing the same song at how impressive the event was.
Already confirmed for next year to extend over 2-days instead of 1 between 17-18 February 2017 at Pattaya we are excited to see what has become of the grandiose Hanuman head that was the stage last year. This is definitely one of those events to look forward to every year!

MARCH
Transmission | Bangkok
Lifting and shifting a tried and tested big name festival like Transmission from Prague to Bangkok does not just sound like a good idea, but IS a perfect one. The seasoned trance music festival celebrated its 10-year anniversary in style by having their first show in Australia earlier in July this year. In 2017, Transmission will finally hit Asia.
Famous for their no-hold-back production, the organizers are passionate creators of high level audio and visual spectacles. On 10 March, 2017 prepare to witness this in the flesh. With DJs like Aly & Fila and Ferry Corsten already confirmed to be making an appearance, you can be sure trance will reign supreme on the night.
