[Recap] Two Door Cinema Club Live in Bangkok
After patiently waiting for many years, Thai fans got their eagerly awaited chance to see them perform live in Bangkok. Yes, we're talking about the Northern Irish Indie-Rock trio, Two Door Cinema Club. After canceling their concert last minute in 2013, due to an inflammation of the larynx of band member Alex Trimble, the highly anticipated Thailand Debut finally took place this past Wednesday, 17 August.
The band was formed in 2007 by Alex Trimble (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Sam Halliday (lead guitar, vocals) and Kevin Baird (bass, vocals, synths). Their first studio album "Tourist History", released in 2010, took chart positions in six countries and was Platinum certified in the UK. The second album "Beacon" was released in 2012 and took the #1 spot on the Irish charts, the #2 spot on the UK chart, as well as chart positions in 8 other countries, and was finally Gold certified in the UK.
Between 2011 and 2014, they have received several nominations for NME awards, including "Best New Band", "Best Album" "Best Live Band" and "Best British Band.
Their Bangkok concert was not only a chance to finally hear their greatest hits live, but also their newest songs from their forthcoming album "Gameshow", which will be released on October 14, which will contain their newest single "Are We Ready? (Wreck)".
Behind the concert was OD (Out Of Dimension), a project by the Prart Music Group, which was also behind the Bangkok performance of Electronica legends The Prodigy.
The concert took place at Show DC Oasis Arena and featured as opening acts Thailand's very own Tattoo Colour and Tabasco. The night attracted a huge crowd of excited fans and live music enthusiasts, joined by our two seasoned photographers Surapas "Win" Amornwatee and Nattakorn "Nut" Pumisombut, who captured the best moments through their lenses.
We have selected 26 pictures and placed them below, for your viewing pleasure and to relive this great night.
