Rap Is Now, nationwide! All about 'The War Is On' Season 3
Thailand’s leading Hip Hop platform, Rap Is Now is back with the third season of their rap battle competition “The War Is On” – bigger and more ambitious than ever before!
Prelude
Five months ago, 22-year old Ayutthaya-born rapper, Repaze sovereignly took the champion title in the final of the rap battle competition's second season and moved himself, but also Thai Rap, further into the spotlight.
The final event took place on the rooftop of Fortune Town Ratchada, was joined by renowned local artists, such as Apartment Khunpa and Southside, and was watched by over 4,000 thrilled Hip Hop fans.
Those that remembered the final of the first season (which was attended by an intimate circle of 500 Hip Hop enthusiast) realized that shit just got real, and Hip Hop is very much alive and flourishing in Thailand.

Just recently, Rap is Now has launched an insightful documentary series called “Zero To Hero”. The first four episodes of the series portray the four rappers that competed in the final of the second season, shedding light on their beginnings and where they are heading. Below is the series’ 4th episode, which is about the champion of the second season himself, Repaze.
Here & Now: Season 3
This August, the live auditions of the third season kick off, after the Rap Is Now team reviewed 1,142 audition videos from contenders from 75 provinces all over Thailand.
Between August to October, 160 selected rappers are invited to showcase their skill live on stage, on one of five stages all over Thailand.

Among the contenders are not only undiscovered underground rappers, but also well-known and established artists, such as MuadVan of Doubletap Beatbox who will perform on the Udon Thani stage, and several more.
Besides the 32 contenders, each live audition will feature special guest rappers. The Udon Thani live audition, will feature the newcomer Peejay Humnoi, the champion of the second season, Repaze, joining forces on stage with the two rappers Blacksheeprr and Liberate P, as well as the very first “The War Is On” champion, Monkeyking.
Out of the five live auditions, only 32 out of the total of 160 rappers will score an invite to the live tournaments, where throughout three rap battle events, the contenders will be continuously eliminated.
The three live tournaments will reduce the contenders down to 16, then 8, and finally to those 4 rappers that will compete in the final event for the champion title. The final will take place in Bangkok and promises to be a night of epic proportions!
