At the early age of 15 years you already organized your own house parties in basements and empty apartments. How did you get in touch with electronic dance music in the first place?
I started listening to the mix shows in the radio and the music was different and better than what they had in their regular rotation. That opened up a new view on music and educating my friends to listen too.
You produced multiple "Gold” and “Platinum" records and received several Billboard Music Awards. Out of all of the tracks you have made, which tracks would you recommend as an introduction to someone that is not yet familiar with your music?>
I say more of the recent releases such as Let's Groove (Clapton Remix) or It’s All In My Head.
DJ Mag once credited you as “the Quincy Jones of dance music”. How would you describe your music in just a few words?
I would have to say: Music from the heart and soul.
You were DJing for the “Carmel Air Rave” which featured a chartered plane from Germany To Greece, which makes you the only DJ that has ever played on a plane. Looking back on over 20 years as a DJ, what was the best and the worst gig you ever played and what was the funniest thing ever occurred during any of your performances?
The best is the appreciations and welcome I receive from the fans.
The worst is being booked at a club that plays commercial sound and have no idea what I play. They expect me to play the same records the DJ before me played.
The funniest, a mother came looking for her daughter in a rave and started chasing her all around.
What are you currently working on? What’s on your agenda for the near future?
At the moment I working on 5 new original releases, scheduling Groove On Records releases until the end of the year, a remix for Timo Mass and remix for Alex Flatner & Lopazz.
You travel a lot. What are the essential things you need to have with you at all times and what are the things you miss when you are on tour?
I need my wallet, music, camera and internet. ☺
I miss my family.
On 29th September you will perform live here in Bangkok at Q Bar. Have you visited Thailand before? Will your performance be your Bangkok debut?
I have not visited Thailand before. It’s been one of my favorite places I have want to visit. I’m very excited and looking to come and since I love Thai food, it will be a dream come true to visit and debut at the same time.
Are you adventurous if it comes to food? Do you try the local dishes of the countries you travel to, or do you usually eat what you know from home? Will you give spicy Thai food a chance?
I’m very adventurous and since Thai food is one of my favorite, I can’t wait to taste authentic home land Thai food. I like a bit of spicy but not too spicy.
What can Bangkok expect of your performance?
To let my music take control and take you on a journey.
