Located in Lasalle, a community surrounded by residential areas, markets, and schools, is a public green space not unlike a market park. The two-story structure is built on 5 rais (8,000 square meters) of land, full of lush forest trees and various shops, where all kinds of people can relax, hang out, and have healthy meals. This is Dadfa.

What makes Dadfa stand out and a must-see is, first of all, its architecture. Every detail in the design is deliberate, yet raw and unrefined; this is to preserve the concept of simplicity. For example, polished concrete being the choice material. Metal bars used as structural support are left to naturally rust, then coated with anti-rust paint. The facade is built from only one type of lightweight blocks, flipped on different sides for a variety in design. The shops’ decor also fit well with the main structure. Their spacious and airy layouts allow visitors to see everywhere with one glance as if all the shops are one community.

The second distinctive feature is the project’s space management. 75% of the area are parks and communal areas. Everyone in the family, including your pet dogs, can relax and unwind in this sylvan space. Rock gardens and garden nooks can be found all over. Trees in Dadfa are exclusively forest trees such as Ta-khian, Burma padauk, and Siamese rosewood to name a few.

Different zones in the communal area can serve people of all genders and ages. The playground has a sanitary sandpit that is fun and safe for kids to explore. Around the back side of the main structure is a gallery, where visitors can see artists displaying and selling their creations. An outdoor activity area houses exciting events every month. Most importantly, Dadfa provides complete accessibility for the elderly and people with disability. For instance, there are elevators and wheelchair ramps for extra safety.

The remaining 25% of the area (1,600 square meters) is commercial. Restaurants here have been selected for their healthy menus and uniqueness, meaning no common franchises. Currently, there are eight shops: Oh Ka Jhu, Farm-mu, Mitr Pla Joom, Sushi Shunji, Yoga Cafe, Pun Farm Sook, The Fitness, and August Moon.

Moreover, there are special events each month that will transform the empty outdoor activity area into a lifestyle marketplace; a place with design, crafted and handmade goods on sale, workshops, foods and snacks, music, and art. Every event aims to pass the happiness around while remaining eco-friendly with a no-plastic policy, opting instead for paper or tote bags and wooden utensils. Past events include Talakkia Craft Craft, Norm Market, and Foodtruck. We’ll have to wait and see what other impressive events Dadfa has in store.
