#ICPConcerned Unites Photographers Worldwide during COVID-19
Join the hashtag and capture what's it like living in Thailand during the crisis. We'll get through this together!
Photography allows us to convey stories and events in an incredibly concrete way. It’s a great way to express our deepest thoughts and feelings, regardless of whether they’re happy or upsetting.
With the COVID-19 forcing everyone to be apart, interpersonal communication is key in getting through this stressful situation.
International Center of Photography (ICP) is a NY-based organization dedicated to photography. Among other things, they support the ‘concerned photography’ movement, which focuses on capturing the socio-economical aspect of the image to help spread the word and influence changes on a global scale.
The ICP believes that even amidst a pandemic, there’s a way to create an international community – by capturing events and lifestyles that have developed as a result of the coronavirus crisis.
The #ICPConcerned campaign invites professional and amateur photographers to share pictures of how COVID-19 has affected their lives and their surroundings on Instagram.
Every day, the ICP team will search the hashtag for most distinctive entries and share about 3-6 of them on the @ICP Instagram account.
Other than photos, you can also submit video/audio clips, captioned images, as well as any creations of your own. Post your entries on your private account or send them to [email protected].
At present, there are over 3,900 entries in the #ICPConcerned campaign. You can join in by sharing and expressing your personal experience of living in the pandemic crisis. Pick up your camera and capture what’s like being stuck in quarantine. We’ll get through this together!
