The new mixed-use development of Changi Airport offers lifestyle attractions, shops, restaurants, and exciting activities.
Singapore is often lauded for its effort in creating brilliant and breathtaking tourist attractions. The latest addition, Jewel Changi Airport, is a state-of-the-art lifestyle centre that will no doubt solidify Changi’s everlasting reign as the best airport in the world.
You know the airport is well-designed when you can start sightseeing even before stepping out of it.
Jewel Changi Airport is located next to the arrivals area of terminal 1. You can also get there through the connected walkways from terminal 2 and 3. Passengers coming in from terminal 4 can take the shuttle bus to terminal 2.
Inside Jewel is an array of attractions, shops, restaurants, cinemas, hotels, and exciting activities. In this guide, we’ll point you to all the highlights and essentials of Jewel Changi Airport. Those of you visiting Singapore soon shouldn’t miss this one lah!
Rain Vortex
Located at the nucleus of Jewel is a stunning 40-meter indoor waterfall, currently the tallest one in the world. The water cascades into the center of Forest Valley - an indoor garden which holds over 1,000 species of plants under a crystalline dome. At night, light shows transform the clear stream into a mesmerizing spectrum.
Canopy Park
On the 5th floor is the park area, spanning over 14,000 m² and packed with awesome activities.
Our first stop is the floral garden. Snap some spectacular photos of the boundless bouquets of flowers and share them to your friends on social media. The animal topiaries can make you feel as if you’re transported to a lively jungle.
There’s also the Canopy Mazes - a hedge labyrinth where visitors can test their mental skills while finding their way around. If you’re looking for a real challenge, though, enter the Mirror Maze and try to find your way out.
Next is the Sky Nets. The spacious net bridge is suspended 25 meters above ground; be sure to enjoy some light adventure and bounce around.
Last but definitely not least is the Discovery Slides. From this palatial playground, you can slide down amongst the trees and waterfall surrounding you. (Opening on June 10, 2019)
Pokemon Centre
Good news for aspiring Pokemon trainers; you no longer need to go all the way to Japan. The first Pokemon Centre in Southeast Asia has opened in Singapore. Here, you’ll find so many cute merch and souvenirs that you can’t help but catch ‘em all!
Shop & Dine
No way we’re ending this guide without mentioning the shopping and dining options.
Jewel Changi Airport houses over 280 stores and restaurants. Highlights include the iconic Japanese brands, MUJI and Tokyo Hands, and their epic two-floor storefronts.
The food parade is led by Shake Shack - the famous NY-based fast food chain. This branch marks their first arrival in the SEA. There’s also an impressive Starbucks Flagship Outlet that spans over two floors.
