Tiny Bags: A Pocket-sized Trend that Packs Quite the Punch

The latest trend of designer micro bags seizes the fashion world and captures the hearts of international celebrities.

Tiny Bags: A Pocket-sized Trend that Packs Quite the Punch

Some of you might think of handbags as a personal pocket dimension, in which to throw your belongings never to see them again. If you live in the wondrously bizarre world of fashion, however, you’d be wrong.

It seems like fashion designers are always coming up with new, talk-of-the-town creations. Among the latest hot items are tiny designer bags; they’ve been seen on the hands of every other global superstar and celebrity.

Their not-so-tiny popularity has fashionistas around the world scouring for these haute couture miniatures.

The movement was started by one Simon Porte Jacquemus - the French designer who founded his namesake brand, Jacquemus.

At the Paris Autumn/Winter 2018-2019 fashion show, he proudly presented his creation. The sight of supermodels carrying a variety of itty-bitty bags was enough to make all in the room audibly gasped.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the trend caught on. It has become more and more popular with other brands jumping on the bandwagon and releasing their version of these puny purses.

Of course, the brand that started it all would be getting the most love. Jacquemus has released an extensive line of tiny bags in all shapes, colors, and (still relatively small) sizes; everything from classic micro handbags to chic & casual cross-body bags and ‘necklace’ purses.

Despite their somewhat comical appearance, the bags are made with top-quality leathers. These are, after all, high-end designer bags.

For those of you who lean on the masculine side, don’t feel left behind just yet. Jacquemus has also designed many options for microscopic men’s purses.

Other designer brands are following suit by presenting their own spin of doll-sized bags to add to their followers’ collection. Such brands include quintessential names like Fendi, Coach, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Lanvin, Gucci, Mark Cross, Building Block, and more.

Simply put, they’re everywhere, encompassing almost all fashion flavors.

So whatever your style is like, treat yourself to one of these tiny bags. You can tote them around and keep up with the rising trend. Are they practical? We’re not sure yet. Are they cute, though? A-dorable.
